The Dems Have the Floor; What Now?

Living in America Series

A week after the mid-term elections, theUnited States electorate seems as divided as ever. The Democrats can rightly claim several victories: control of the House of Representatives with 117 women elected, more governors (glory be that Wisconsin’s anti-union governor ScottWalker is gone), and more Democrats in state legislatures. Sadly Beto O’Rourke didn’t defeat Ted Cruz, but battles continue in other southern states.Gubernatorial recounts in Georgia and Florida could still happen. So there is hope and yet doubt lingers as the mid-term dust settles. Download my article “Mid-Term Blues” for a Canadian’s perspective.
